A Summer Wedding Surrounded by Nature in London

Here’s a glimpse into their day…
The couple first met in 2016 while working in London, and their story took a romantic turn four years later. In May 2020, Steve proposed on the idyllic Cuckmere Haven beach. With COVID making jewellers hard to reach, he improvised with a clever Amazon alternative. They received plenty of compliments on the “plastic” ring!
When asked about their inspiration for the Kew Gardens wedding, Elizabeth and Steven explained that celebrating with food, drink, and music was central. As passionate foodies and amateur wine lovers, the wedding breakfast was a highlight. The live music kept everyone dancing into the evening!
Thanks to warm summer weather, the day had a relaxed, airy feel, no one wanted to wear jackets and ties in 32°C under the glasshouses! For décor, they let the gardens speak for themselves. Birch trees lined the aisle, and simple greenery adorned the banquet tables, blending the natural beauty of Kew with understated personal touches. Elizabeth added a creative flair by hand-painting the place settings, table plans, and wedding invitations. Making each detail uniquely theirs.

Brides Do Good in London
Elizabeth wanted a sustainable wedding dress option, and stumbled across Brides Do Good in London. They are a charity that sell a mixture of ex-sample and pre-loved dresses at a fraction of retail prices but most importantly they donate profits towards ending childhood marriage. Elizabeth’s floral lace dress was designed by Pronovias. Steve had a custom made suit by Edit Suits in green, to fit with the garden theme.
Kew Royal Botanic Gardens in Richmond is one of the world’s most striking botanical venues. Known for its diverse plant collections, historic glasshouses and beautifully maintained landscapes, the gardens offer a truly unique setting for weddings and receptions.
