It’s a venue that looks incredible in every season and one I’ve photographed many times over the years, each wedding feeling completely different while still unmistakably Cripps Barn.
What Makes Cripps Barn So Special
From the moment you arrive, Cripps Barn makes an impression. The honey-coloured Cotswold stone, dramatic barn doors and surrounding countryside set the tone, while inside the space feels warm, intimate and beautifully considered.
One of the biggest misconceptions about barn venues is that they’re dark and difficult to work in. Cripps Barn is the exception. The combination of stone walls, high ceilings, carefully designed lighting and open fires creates an atmosphere that feels magical in person, and photographs beautifully.
Every corner of the venue has been designed with weddings in mind, from the ceremony spaces through to the dining rooms and outdoor areas, all flowing naturally throughout the day.
Hosting Your Wedding at Cripps Barn
Cripps Barn is licensed for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies, giving couples flexibility whatever the weather decides to do.
The venue comfortably hosts larger weddings, it has a 150-person capacity for the ceremony and dining. Evening celebrations can accommodate an additional 50 evening guests, taking the evening capacity to 200 people, creating a lively party atmosphere later on. The layout allows the day to flow naturally from ceremony, to drinks, to dinner, and into the evening.
While the aesthetic is rustic, Cripps Barn is extremely well-equipped behind the scenes. The venue includes a professional-grade sound system for speeches and evening celebrations, and the late licence means the party can continue well into the night.
Mouth-watering Catering Options at Cripps Barn
Your guests will not go hungry when hosting a wedding at this charming venue. One of the standout features of this wedding venue is the food and drink that is on offer.
All of the food is cooked over the open flames of venue’s rotisseries and barbecues, which adds another element of fun to your special day. Plus, it makes for some more great photos too!
The finest ingredients are used, and you can take a look at the menu on the Cripps Barn website. The dishes on offer range from four-day marinated pork shoulder and apple sauce, to suckling pig, leg of lamb with Middle Eastern spices, and Beef ribeye with Bearnaise sauce. There are plenty of vegetarian options, and the canapes are incredible as well.
The wedding breakfast will be served in the elegant Oak Room, which accommodates 150 people on round tables. If you decide to opt for rectangular tables, the maximum capacity will be 120 people.
For smaller weddings, you do have the option of dining in the barn itself, as this can sit up to 84 people comfortably.
