So much so, I made a special trip there to meet the team, have a coffee and ask them some all important questions.. just for you! In this series of wedding venue blog posts I aim to help readers make informed choices on all things wedding related. I’ll be writing specifically about some of the outstanding wedding venues I believe you should consider. Hopefully, by offering some inside information, this will help you make an informed choice on where to spend that most important day of your life.

I met up with Charlotte Turner and Alice Scott, two of the team behind making sure your wedding day is planned to perfection and runs effortlessly.
Charlotte, as Wedding Manager, tell me how did you first get involved with weddings?
My love affair with Weddings started young. At 14 I took a two week work experience looking after Weddings in a hotel, and I haven’t stopped since. I took this to a more professional level at college, then spent three and a half years as Events Supervisor at a local hotel. Now I’m in my element creating bespoke and boutique Weddings as Weddings Manager at Hampton Manor.
Tell me about one of the most memorable weddings at Hampton Manor.
The most memorable Weddings tend to be the ones where Brides and Grooms take exclusive use of the whole Manor and make it their home for the day. Then the personalities really come through. Our Artistic Director’s sister took exclusive use of the Manor on a Sunday and created a relaxed and playful day. From treasure trails to afternoon teas and macaron helter-skelters it was a completely unique day, which became the inspiration for our Lazy Sunday Package!
Ooh.. what’s the Lazy Sunday Package?
We have released a handful of Sunday dates throughout the year for exclusive weddings without the addition of any venue hire. These extremely attractive packages are based on minimum numbers and we recommend early booking to avoid disappointment. Think afternoon teas, fish and chip suppers and late night bacon butties.

How far out should a couple pay a deposit to secure your venue for their wedding day?
We have couples booking their Weddings with us anything from one month to two years prior to their Wedding date! Whether you’re spontaneous or a complete perfectionist, we
can help you plan your perfect day at the Manor. Whatever the Wedding run up time, we reserve a Wedding date for 10 days whilst the couple make up their mind, before we ask for the £1,000 deposit to be paid. And then the fun continues…
What is included when a couple books your venue for their wedding?
All of our Wedding Packages differ- we create a unique quote for you on reserving a date with us. On booking with us every Bride and Groom gets their own dedicated Wedding
Manager. This person will organise the couple’s Six Month Details Meeting, Wedding Food Tasting, and be there throughout the Wedding Day. Most importantly, the Wedding Manager will always be at the other end of the phone to answer those niggling questions and give their best and well practised advice. We’re also working on a leather-bound Wedding Planner as a gift for our Brides and Grooms on booking… watch this space.
How do you help couples customise their wedding?
We ask couples to tell us all of their ideas, and them brainstorm together to see how we can make it happen at the Manor.

What’s one interesting fact about Hampton Manor?
Sir Frederick Peel build the Manor in memory of his father. Around the Manor you can find the entwined initials of Frederick and his first love, Elizabeth.
What do you have planned for the future?
Hampton Manor has an exciting couple of years coming up! We’re redeveloping The Birches to create 25 new bedrooms and a full spa facility. We’ll also be extending
Elizabeth’s Court to create a new Civil Ceremony space with glass walls facing wild gardens. On top of that we’re talking about expanding our walled garden, redesigning our bedrooms and giving our Lobby a face lift! Bring on 2018!
How many guest can you accommodate?
We can accommodate 120 day guests for a Ceremony and sit down Wedding Breakfast, and 150 for the evening party.
What makes a wedding at Hampton Manor unique?
Just one of the things that makes the Manor unique is its ability to merge the contemporary with the historical. We pair bold wallpapers and chandeliers with original oak panelling and stained glass.

Peel’s is a 3 rosette restaurant bringing the highest professional standards throughout. As well a traditional wedding breakfasts Hampton Manor are also talented at crafting relaxed and understated weddings such as exclusive hire of the estate with afternoon tea, followed by an early evening fish & chip supper with guests helping themselves to bottled beers. It all creates a refreshingly informal feel inside the dramatic courtyard.
