“On the day itself Jonny was a breath of fresh air, super friendly and in the nicest way possible you didn’t really know he was there! He produced beautiful candid photos, something that we will really treasure forever.”

Autumn Wedding Photos at Hampton Manor Hotel in Solihull

Meeting at Exeter university in 2008 Sarah & John were great friends to start. Once uni finished one thing lead to another and romanced blossomed! During early 2017 John broke his ankle and required surgery. This lead to a lot of looking after on Sarah’s part. As a thank you he booked a surprise weekend away, which turned out to be at the beautiful Gidleigh Park in Devon. It was here that John proposed and they got married the next year at Hampton Manor Hotel in Solihull.

“Food and drink is the glue that holds us together!” says Sarah. As such this was high upon the agenda. Hampton Manor Hotel Solihull perfectly fitted the bill, having a Michelin starred restaurant on site!  Entertainment by the “Piano Man” was provided throughout the whole day (all songs were requested via post it notes) and ensured that people were up on their feet dancing, even during dinner! I personally love an autumn wedding. The colours and general feel of the season is so magical at that time of year, especially at Hampton Manor.

Why choose Hampton Manor Hotel Solihull as your wedding venue?

From the outset Sarah & John wanted a classic wedding a venue that suited the autumn season. Hampton Manor is a stunning wedding venue and well renowned for its food and drink offering. An initial meet with their wedding coordinator and they were instantly sold. A BBQ lover, John noticed they had Big Green Eggs in the garden he couldn’t take his eyes away! Throughout the planning process the entire team were superbly helpful and ensured the wedding day was seamless.

 Jenny Packham Wedding Dress

Coco and Kate, a boutique wedding dress stockist based in Hatton is where I found the dress. It was the second shop I visited and from the moment I tried it on I fell in love with the dress. A dress of two halves; beautiful beading and sequins on the top half, balanced out by a slim chiffon skirt. Then and there I realised it was the dress of my dreams! It fitted perfectly with the autumn wedding and meant it would sparkle as the evening drew in. I slept on it and the next day the order was placed!

John’s suit was purchased from Yardsmen in London. John was always keen to have a classic navy three piece suit and they provided just that! The bridesmaids had navy Ghost dresses both in the same colour but different styles. We went dress shopping together and I wanted them to be comfortable in the dresses we chose. We all thought navy would be great given that it was an autumn wedding.

When planning your wedding just enjoy the process and please try not to get caught up in the smaller details! Whilst minor details may seem important in the run up to the big day, they simply just fall out of focus on the day itself. You will be far more absorbed with friends and family, and most importantly you will be having the time of your life! The weather is always a worry but apart from a brief shower we were graced with beautiful crisp autumn weather. A perfect backdrop to an amazing day!

We wanted a wedding photographer who was keen to get involved in the whole day and didn’t want to spend all their time doing couples photos! Jonny is a recommended supplier at Hampton Manor. As soon as we saw his website and read more about his documentary wedding photography style we knew he would be a perfect fit for our big day!

Jonny was extremely likeable, organised and professional from the outset. Having the initial phone call was really useful to see if we were a good fit for each other and to find out more information about the day and what our priorities were.  On the day itself Jonny was a breath of fresh air, super friendly and in the nicest way possible you didn’t really know he was there! He produced beautiful candid photos, something that we will truly treasure forever.
