Surrounded by rolling countryside, they chose this beautiful barn venue for its warm atmosphere, flexible spaces, and the freedom to make the day feel completely their own. From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this was a wedding focused on people, connection, and enjoying the moment rather than following a rigid schedule.
Their day blended laid-back countryside charm with thoughtful personal details, creating a celebration that felt effortless yet meaningful. Great Tythe Barn provided the perfect backdrop — from the light-filled ceremony space to the rustic barns and outdoor areas that encouraged guests to mingle, relax, and soak up the Cotswold surroundings. As a wedding photographer, it’s a venue I love working at, not just for the setting but for how naturally the day flows.

What vibe were you going for? Easy going, chilled out, wild flowers. As long as everyone had a good time we were happy.
Give us your top wedding planning tips… Choose a venue where the bar is next to the dance floor so you don’t lose guests! We made a point of having 2-3 times away just us away from the guests to take it all in. We loved this and really felt we could appreciate what was happening around us.
The wedding fashion
Tell us about the fashion! Helen chose a dress from TDR bridal in Birmingham. She was originally looking on eBay for a second hand dress to alter but her sister persuaded her to visit here…the dress summed Helen up perfectly. Marek wanted something easy going and casual for a summer wedding. He went for light colours and a floral tie to add a bit of colour and to match the wild flowers.
