CRIPPS BARN IN BIBURY TAKES YOUR BREATH AWAY

Finding the perfect venue is often one of the most challenging elements of planning a wedding. If you are looking for somewhere unique, romantic and straight from the pages of Cotswold Life magazine you won’t be disappointed with Cripps Barn. Set in idyllic countryside near Bibury, it is most definitely one of my favourite barn wedding venues. Plus it’s local to where I live, which is always a bonus.

All who see this majestic 18th-century Cotswold stone barn in the flesh soon realise beauty is offered at every turn. Take my hand amigo, with an experienced Cripps barn wedding photographer by your side, all the beauty, class and elegance of this venue will be captured to perfection.

A rustic, authentic, and charming venue, Cripps Barn takes your breath away. From the moment you set foot in this unique stone barn it captures the imagination. Luckily the ambient lighting inside creates a sense of enchantment. Barn wedding venues are notoriously dark and dingy places. Not Cripps!

Barn venues always throw up a few challenges for photographers. This is why an experienced Cripps Barn wedding photographer, who knows it’s nuances and is able to predict the light is a must. Someone who can effectively capture the personality of you and the venue. This is so important to the way I shoot. HOSTING YOUR DREAM WEDDING AT CRIPPS BARN

If you love the sound of this venue, it has a 150-person capacity for the ceremony and dining. You can then add an additional 50 evening guests, taking the evening capacity to 200 people.

While the venue itself may be rustic, you can expect all of the modern extras that are required to plan the perfect wedding day. This includes a State-of-the-art Funktion-One sound system, which will get all of your guests on their feet.

The party can continue until 1am, as Cripps Barn has a late license.  YAS!

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: REAL LIFE CRIPPS BARN COUPLE

Marcel is Swiss and they both now reside in Switzerland, but Caroline has strong family connections to the Cotswolds as it’s where she grew up. When I met up with them before the wedding in London for an engagement shoot it was evident these guys have an incredibly hectic work life. Caroline’s job takes her all over the world and she’s rarely in one country for any length of time! When we met up she had not long got off a flight and was staying in London for the day before her next travels took her onward to Thailand. I knew the little time she got to spend with family was really precious. That’s exactly what their wedding day was about- bringing family and friends together to celebrate with them. Here’s a selection of their images..

MOUTH-WATERING FOOD ON OFFER

Your guests will not go hungry when hosting a wedding at this charming venue. One of the standout features of this wedding venue is the food and drink that is on offer.

All of the food is cooked over the open flames of venue’s rotisseries and barbecues, which adds another element of fun to your special day. Plus, it makes for some more great photos too!

The finest ingredients are used, and you can take a look at the menu on the Cripps Barn website. The dishes on offer range from four-day marinated pork shoulder and apple sauce, to suckling pig, leg of lamb with Middle Eastern spices, and Beef ribeye with Bearnaise sauce. There are plenty of vegetarian options, and the canapes are incredible as well.

The wedding breakfast will be served in the elegant Oak Room, which accommodates 150 people on round tables. If you decide to opt for rectangular tables, the maximum capacity will be 120 people.

For smaller weddings, you do have the option of dining in the barn itself, as this can sit up to 84 people comfortably.

STUNNING OUTDOOR CEREMONY LOCATION

If the weather permits, you are able to have a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Cripps Barn. There is a beautiful oak ceremony canopy, which is located in the glade next to the stone barn. Of course, you still have the option of having your ceremony indoors and then moving outside for some drinks and canapes if you prefer!

There are also outdoor fire pits to keep guests warm during the evening. Plus, you can toast some marshmallows here too, which is a lovely touch and another excellent photo opportunity!

LOCAL ACCOMMODATION RECOMMENDATIONS

There may not be any accommodation on-site at Cripps Barn, but there are plenty of beautiful hotels and B&Bs in the local area that will be suitable for your guests. This includes The New Inn, which is located five miles away from the 18th-century barn and offers 15 en-suite bedrooms.

Other options in the area included Montreal House, which is located in the neighboring village and sleeps 10 people across five beautiful bedrooms. The Stump is a 10 ensuite bedroom property located two miles from Cripps Barn, and you also have Casina Cottage, which sleeps up to 12 people and is next door to the New Inn.

So, while there may not be bedrooms on-site, there are plenty of different accommodation options within the nearby area for your guests to enjoy.
