“The photos speak for themselves! There are no words for how fantastic they are. Jonny captured the true essence of the day and when we look back we can feel all the emotions. They really are incredible.”
VIKKI & OLIVER | CHENIES MANOR HOUSE BUCKINGHAMSHIRE
Oliver & Vikki met way back in 2008 at a Vodka Bar in Watford. Vikki was dressed as a slutty school girl (her words not mine). Little did she know that she was about the meet the love of her life. Her friend Sam, who had been at the bar for some time, had been chatting to the bar supervisor. “His name is Olly” he said “I think he likes you”. Vikki started looking around, “Where did he go?” Olly had vanished from behind the bar and Vikki, full of Dutch courage decided to track him down. Meeting halfway on the stairs, Vikki smugly told him “I heard you like me?” Olly somewhat surprised but keeping his cool casually gave Vikki his phone to exchange numbers. They arranged their first date 2 days later.
A proposal finally happened in the south of France. The loved up couple had gone for a few walks into the mountains behind where they were staying. Oliver was trying to get her to reveal her favourite spot, as she had been coming to the same part of France since she was twelve years old. On a previous holiday in Verona, by chance, they came across two cellos playing and Vikki jokingly mentioned it would have been a great time to propose, as the music was so romantic. On their walk in the French mountains Oliver took a portable speaker with him and the very same song they’d heard in Verona. When he hit play and hid it behind a tree Vikki soon realised what he was doing and started to well up. Speech planned, but he only managed a few words before he started welling up too.
CHENIES MANOR HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Wedding photography can seem like a lot of money, but you have to remember that photos are your lasting memory of the day. It is important to prioritise your budget, we knew photos were important so we just needed to find a photographer who felt like the right fit for us. Jonny was perfect and now we have the photos we can say he was 100% worth every penny.
On the day he had a relaxing, calming presence and also blended in seamlessly, we hardly noticed him there throughout the day. When we saw the photos we couldn’t even remember most of them being taken so were totally thrilled he had captured those parts of the day. He also has a fantastic eye for detail and using natural light.
We also want to say how easy working with Jonny was in the lead up to the wedding He had lots of information, useful forms and was always very chilled. He has a lovely personality and it was a real pleasure having him at our wedding. In fact Vikki’s sister is now booking Jonny for her wedding in 2020!

We wanted a day that reflected us as a couple, Vikki loves a mix of grandeur and intimacy (we realised those are opposites, yes, she is tricky to please)! Olly just wanted the day to be memorable and all the guests to have a great time.Planning the day itself can be overwhelming, with all the different styles and options and colours etc. I would say stick with your first gut instinct and try not to second guess yourself. Also, when choosing a venue follow your heart, you’ll know as soon as you get there whether it is right for you.
HOLLYWOOD INSPIRED WEDDING FASHION
Just over a year before the wedding I went to David’s Bridal in Watford. I realise that this seems keen, it was more to see what the styles actually looked like on. I tried on a fish tail, a boho style dress and a princess dress and didn’t really like any of them. Luckily, I had an amazing stylist who was taking on the individual comments I made about each dress. The one she picked was perfect and completely me. As soon as she did up the zip I had tears in my eyes and knew at that point I had found the dress. It is a stunning ivory, A-line dress, with button detailing down the back and pockets! I love old hollywood and Audrey Hepburn and this screamed both to me. It was perfect! I tried on a couple of other dresses to be sure, then bought it.
Ollie wore an Hugo Boss black 3 piece suit which was tailored to perfection. Worn with a white shirt and ivory tie and pocket square to compliment the bride’s dress. The bridesmaid’s dresses were multiway from a site called Lulus. They wore a turquoise colour and the maid of honour was in a pale green/mint colour. Each bridesmaid wore their dress differently at the bride’s request. They each supplied their own silver shoes.
