“I look at your photos every day, they make me smile without fail.”

– Charlotte & Dan

OXLEAZE BARN | REAL COTSWOLD WEDDINGS

Charlotte and Dan met in a truly unique way, aboard a cruise ship where they were both working in the cast. Their shared love for adventure, especially scuba diving, shaped the proposal: Dan popped the question underwater during a dive, creating a memory as unforgettable as their day-to-day life together.

WHY THEY FELL IN LOVE WITH OXLEAZE BARN

Charlotte and Dan fell in love with Oxleaze Barn because it offered everything they wanted: a beautiful outdoor ceremony space, flexibility for their relaxed style, and accommodation for family and friends. Most importantly, the venue allowed them to create a day that truly reflected who they are, relaxed, joyful, and personal.

A RELAXED, PERSONAL WEDDING VISION

From the start, they wanted a wedding that was chill, laid-back, and completely personal. An outdoor ceremony was a must, with a quiet and intimate atmosphere. Forget the traditional sit-down dinner, they had food trucks to keep things casual and fun, and rather than a traditional cake, they opted for Pan & Ice ice cream rolls.

The couple kept things simple: no formal seating plan, no best men or groomsmen, just a maid of honour, hay bales for seating, and playful activities like cornhole for guests. Music was carefully chosen too, the iconic Shire theme from The Lord of the Rings accompanied the walk down the aisle, and a first dance marked the beginning of the celebrations. And, of course, the father of the bride’s speech remained a highlight of the day.

CAPTURING UNSTAGED GENUINE MOMENTS

Charlotte and Dan aren’t fans of staged photography. I worked closely with them to keep posed shots brief and natural, focusing instead on candid moments that captured the spirit of the day.

“Jonny was snapping away the whole time, we barely noticed he was there, which was perfect. The real moments and memories were captured exactly as we wanted.”

FASHION AND PERSONAL STYLE

The bride looked stunning in a dress chosen perfectly for her, while the groom opted for a tailored light green three-piece suit by Moss, complete with personal embroidery inside the jacket to mark the day. The couple didn’t have a traditional bridal party, and Charlotte did her own makeup, keeping the day personal and authentic.
