Karen and Scott’s Wedding at Egypt Mill Hotel
Egypt Mill Hotel is a special wedding venue for me. Years ago, when I was assisting local wedding photographers, it seemed Egypt Mill Hotel was one of the most popular venues around to get married. I would quite often hone my camera skills there on a Saturday afternoon whilst assisting a professional who was kind enough to allow me to tag along for the day. The experience was invaluable and undoubtedly shaped how I shoot now. It’s also special because it’s one of my local drinking establishments. Many a late evening of drinking their fine ales has been (mis)spent there. I celebrated milestones there such as birthdays with friends and family. It really is somewhere special and I still get a great vibe every time I walk through the door. Just try sitting out on the terrace over looking the water on a summer’s eve and not letting all the small, insignificant worries in life just wash away. Impossible.
A special wedding venue because it’s one of my local drinking establishments.
So it brings me to another reason Egypt Mill Hotel is a special venue; I’m now lucky enough to witness and document couples spending the happiest days of their lives there. The fact that once the wedding evening party is well and truly under way, and I’ve captured those drunken dance floor moves, I can stroll 2 minutes up the road to my house is a bonus! Here’s some of the story of one of those exact weddings. Karen and Scott’s wedding was a blast; with a service up the road at Minchinhampton Church and all other shenanigans taking place at Egypt Mill Hotel.
