Best wedding pictures of 2015
Wow what a year! One thing I’m sure we’ll all agree on is how fast it has gone. I’ve never done a ‘look back’ or retrospective blog post before but this time I couldn’t ignore it. I’ve had a blast this year and when I think of the past 12 months I can’t help but smile. It’s simply been the best year. Why? Well, I got to do what I love which is photograph people and their weddings. I worked all over the UK and even got to shoot in destinations such as the Annasa Hotel Cyprus and Logis de Puygaty in France. I got to meet the most incredible people, make new friends and I truly felt like I found my photographic voice.
Putting together this post has been a great opportunity to reflect on the work I’ve done this year. It’s interesting to see how my focus has adjusted in my approach to capturing a wedding. More so than ever I can see where my priorities are at; having a great relationship with my couples, telling their story as it is and capturing genuine joy and emotion. Simple.
It’s in that keeping it simple vain I put together this post. I could’ve easily spent hours pouring over my best wedding pictures to include and stressing about the order they ran in (that’s probably what’s put me off doing one before), so I didn’t; I purposely gathered images quickly from a handful of weddings and pre-wedding shoots. It was interesting to see which images I was immediately drawn to. I could’ve easily put together a handful of posts focussing on different aspects of weddings; the obscure things I notice, the portraits, the details etc. Heck, I probably should at some point! However, this is all about the incredible people who trusted me to tell their story and a huge thank you goes out to all the couples who shared their day with me.
Looking ahead to what’s in store for 2016 I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be another great year. I have a few weddings in France which I’m already buzzing about. I’m looking forward to working at lots of new UK venues too, plus some old favourites. Mostly I’m looking forward to meeting new people, hearing their stories and capturing their special days.

Some great shots Jonny. Really like the black and white with the bride coming down the stairs and also the early portrait of the older lady in blue sat in the garden, looks like some sort of portrait award shot!
